Year A 2023 Third Sunday of Lent

The Third Sunday of Lent

On this Sunday, in 2024, the Gospel tells the story of the money changers in the temple and how Jesus chased them away, in (Jn. 2:15), "And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables.

Why did Jesus "throw the money changers out of his heavenly Father's temple" (John 2:13–17)? The money changers at the temple were thieves, taking advantage of the people seeking to worship God with their tithes and sacrifices. God does not allow sin in or at the temple where He meets the people. For the Gospel on this Third Sunday of Lent, see John 2:13-25.

May this Lenten Journey inspire you, and May God bless you, and keep you!
