To prepare for this event, you might want to think about the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and how He will fit in your life. I make a conscious effort to face an image of the Sacred Heart, or a statue, and say "Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on me, a sinner." I also pray the Liturgy of the Hours, Morning and Evening, and often, Night Prayer, every day - and that has prayers that are appropriate to honor Him. I pray these prayers because I am a member of the Order of Franciscan Secular.
